Cypress College

I attended Cypress College from 2017 to 2019, where I excelled academically, identified my career aspirations, actively participated in athletics, and held leadership roles on campus.

During my time at Cypress College, I consistently undertook full course loads of 5-6 STEM-intensive courses each semester, while actively engaging in extracurricular activities and maintaining a 3.77 GPA. Although I initially pursued an engineering track, I reassessed my career goals during my sophomore year and transitioned to an accounting major to better align with my professional aspirations.

Athletics and leadership were integral aspects of my experience at Cypress College. I participated in the men's basketball program for both years, serving as team captain in each season. Additionally, during my sophomore year, I held the position of President of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). In this role, I facilitated communication between student-athletes and the administration, planned various on-campus events to strengthen community relations, and organized initiatives such as the Veterans 5K. This event supported the Veterans Services office and saw participation from over 200 attendees, with contributions from the entire athletic department.

Chapman University

During my time at Chapman University, I excelled in both my accounting major and leadership education. I consistently took full course loads, including interterm and summer courses, to meet the 150-credit requirement for the CPA as efficiently as possible. My academic journey encompassed extensive coursework in accounting subjects such as cost accounting, financial accounting, accounting information systems, investments and consolidations, audit, and tax. Additionally, I pursued business courses in management, business analytics, finance, marketing, production and operations, and business policy.

My cluster in leadership enabled me to take courses each semester, delving into all aspects of leadership, which I applied in various roles during my time at Chapman. By the time I graduated in the spring of 2021, I had achieved an undergraduate GPA of 3.88. I was also an active member of the Accounting Society during my two years at Chapman, participating in recruiting events, serving as a mentor to underclassmen, and networking with current Chapman students and alumni.

Academics
Athletics

At Chapman University, I was a part of the men's basketball program from 2019 to 2022. As team captain, I helped lead our team to a 23-3 record in my final season, which included playing in the conference title game and earning an NCAA tournament at-large bid. I was a two-time all-conference player and hold Chapman’s all-time record for three-pointers made in a single season.

In 2022, I received the Don Perkins Leadership Award, recognizing my leadership on and off the court. I was also a finalist for the 2021 Senior Athlete of the Year.

To this day, my experience in college athletics remains a fundamental part of who I am. I am deeply grateful for the opportunities, relationships, lessons, and strong work ethic it instilled in me.
